Join Us at the 4th Annual Granville Cornbread & Moonshine Festival on June 13th!

Enjoy live music, fresh cornbread, and samples of Tennessee Whiskey Trail spirits at the historic Granville Cornbread & Moonshine Festival on June 13th.

Nashville, Tennessee (June 2, 2020) – Cornbread + moonshine + music: what more could a Southern heart want? The Tennessee Whiskey Trail and Historic Granville, Tennessee invite you to join them at the 4th annual Granville Cornbread & Moonshine Festival on June 13, 2020. Visitors can enjoy a full day of live music, cornbread contests, Tennessee Whiskey Trail spirits samplings, moonshine storytelling, craftsmen demonstrations, live musical performances, and more. The festival will take place in Pioneer Village from noon to 4 p.m.

Tennessee Whiskey Trail Tasting Area
Tennessee Whiskey Trail members make some of the world’s best moonshine, but did you know that they also produce other spirits, such as rum, gin, and vodka? All these spirits and more can be yours for the tasting for just $5 at the festival! Participating Trail distilleries include Short Mountain Distillery, Ole Smoky Distillery, Tennessee Legend, OId Forge Distillery, Old Glory Distillery, Old Tennessee Distillery, and PostModern Spirits who will be offering samples and selling merchandise and bottles of their spirits. Tickets for whiskey tasting are $5 (you must be at least 21 to enter the tasting area). Don’t forget to stop by the Whistle Stop Saloon to hear the story of legendary moonshiner Hop T. Lee and visit Pioneer Village for more storytelling of moonshining adventures.

Granville’s Annual Cornbread Cook-Off
Contest entries will be accepted between 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on June 13 at Pioneer Village. Contest categories include traditional cornbread, non-traditional cornbread, cornbread and Tennessee spirits dish, Aunt B’s Hoe Cakes, and hushpuppies. Prizes will be awarded for first place, second place and third place in each category and all participants will receive a bag of Eller’s Grist Mill cornmeal and a free Cornbread & Moonshine t-shirt. Cornbread Lane Lunch
Open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., enjoy a pioneer meal of pinto beans with ham, turnip greens, apples, cobbler, a beverage, and of course … your choice of fresh cornbread, all for $10! Taste hot water cornbread made with freshly ground meal and get the chance to sample contest entries too. Primitive cooking will be done in the Village, and they will be serving crackling cornbread just as they ate it in the old days!

Craftsmen Demonstrations
Take a step back in time to see a real grist mill in operation with fresh cornmeal and grits for sale! Also enjoy traditional craftsmen demonstrations, such as authentic blacksmithing, broom-making, basket-weaving, cloth-weaving, and more.

Grand Opening of Tennessee Mayberry Town
Before getting your fill of cornbread and ‘shine, stop by the grand opening of the Mayberry and I Love Lucy Museum, Mayberry Cruise In, Antique Car Show, and additional attractions in the historic city at 9:30 a.m. Enjoy live musical performances by LeRoy Mack McNees of The Country Boys at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., Little Ricky of I Love Lucy Show at noon and 2 p.m., and Victors Band at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Special Musical Guests
Singer-songwriters John Alan Carmack and Charles Melin of Cornbread Whiskey will be performing classic rock, old-timey tunes, and country classics at the Pruett Stage at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The Granville Cornbread & Moonshine Festival will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 13 in Pioneer Village. General festival admission is $5 (children 6 and under are free); whiskey tasting admission is $5 (only ages 21 and older will be allowed to enter the tasting area); and a Cornbread Lane meal ticket is $10.
